Denver Newborn Photography – BTS (behind the scenes) @ a viewing session.

Here is an absolute fav from a recent Denver newborn  + family portrait session:Denver Newborn Photography - Family Portraits

Erin (above) came for her viewing session – She told me she was so excited that she couldn’t sleep the night before. 😉 We did the shoot in her fabulous, light-filled custom designed (by her) home, but we met for the viewing session @ my studio. We opened the wine, had a few snacks and then previewed her images.

After she saw the images for the first time, she said “Oh, I love you and I hate you.” (The “love” was b/c of how fab the images were….and the”hate” was a joke, because they were so amazing that it was going to be hard to pick her favorites.)

That’s what we do @ the viewing sessions – you get to see the images, you are wowed and overwhelmed (but very happy) and then I help you select your favorites depending on what you are planning to do (wall canvas, album, gifts for others, prints for the office, digital files, etc.). It can take 1 – 2 hours to do this, but you’ll end up with your favorite images in exactly the products you want! I can even superimpose properly scaled images onto an image of your wall. Here is a sample, taken from another family’s viewing session:

I had one of my personal favs made up into a matted print as a special thank you b/c this is the fourth time I have photographed her family and I absolutely adore them all. Here is a snapshot of her with it. She loved this image so much she told me it distracted her as she drove home.

Broomfield Family Photography – Large Wall Canvas

Broomfield Family Portraits - Large Wall Canvas by Natascha Lee Studios

Here is the lovely Jade next to her large family wall art. I took her family’s portraits last fall, and I recently visited her home for a video shoot/on-camera interview (I’m very honored that a local videographer wanted to create a video featuring me! And grateful that Jade agreed to be part of the project!)

It was a blast to walk around her house and see my portraits of her stunning family throughout the house….She ordered large wall canvases for her front room and hallway, mounted prints for her family room, an heirloom album, and small gift albums for grandparents, etc. I hear the grandparents were over the moon to receive photos of their kids/grandkids for Xmas.

This piece here is a statement piece, and the first thing you see when you enter her beautifully decorated Broomfield home! She’s told me that she receives so many compliments on it. (Guests love seeing family photos when they visit your home. And so does your photographer – ;-))

Be sure to order and proudly display BIG wall prints / canvas of your family portraits, it’s one of the best ways to celebrate your family’s love and special connection.

Denver Teen Model of the Month: Paris

I’m thrilled to introduce our teen model of the month for March: Paris. Paris is so photogenic! And she was just 11 years old when we did this shoot (she has since turned 12.)  Read on to learn more about her, and her journey as a Denver  Teen Model. First let’s hear from Paris’ mom, Summer. Mom, tell us about yourself and your family:

My name is Summer Gorman and am a semi-native to Colorado. I was born in California and moved to Colorado when I was 7. First thing I asked when we got to Colorado was what all the white stuff was on the ground. I had never seen snow before.

I love spending time with my family (hubby, son, daughter, and parents), traveling, and watching Paris play volleyball. When I have time to myself, I will work out, go to the movies, or simply do nothing at all!

As a family, we don’t have very much free time. Plus, we each have different interests. We try to go to movies, but again, our movie interests differ. We visit family often and we try to do as much camping as we can over the summer.

Now, let’s hear from Paris in her own words: My name is Paris Gorman, and I am 12 years old. My favorite book is “Let it Snow” By: John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. I am obsessed with the TV show “Pretty Little Liars” and my favorite movies are the Harry Potter series. I play club volleyball and I really enjoy doing mine and other people’s makeup. Something I have never done, but dream of doing is to be in the Olympics for (hard court) volleyball! What is something about you that surprises people about you?

One thing that surprises people is when I tell them I play volleyball for Colorado Juniors. I am actually playing up on a 13’s team, instead of 12’s team.

My friends say that I am very goofy and I talk a lot.

What made you interesting in modeling? I have always wanted to be a model for the brand PINK or for NIKE. I have had a fairly good experience so far, but have only been a backup in one commercial. I am still grateful I could be in a commercial though! I love meeting new people and hope to meet many more on my next modeling job. Why did you pick Natascha Lee Studios for your modeling headshots? Wilhelmina gave us a whole bunch of choices for a photoshoot, and Natascha Lee Studios caught our eye the most. We were told that she knows exactly what Wilhelmina is looking for, and she sure did! Was there anything you were nervous or worried about before the session?

I was nervous about my skin. Like most teens, I can breakout pretty bad sometimes. I am also very clumsy, so I had a whole bunch of scratches on my legs and arms.

How did the actual photo session go? The photo session went really good! My favorite part was being able to pose for the camera and be outside! Any advice to other models before their photo sessions? Just make sure you give yourselves multiple choices, from shoes and clothes, and your hair. It’s always good to make sure you feel confident and comfortable in your outfits too. Always make sure you put your happy face on, they don’t want to see a sad model! How did you feel/what did you think when received your images? I thought they looked amazing. I was actually surprised at how good my skin looked! I also couldn’t believe how long my legs looked! If you could have any superpower, which one would it be and why? I would love to fly, obviously! The reason being is I would like to see the world from a different perspective and to be in control of where I was going. I would also be able to visit any place I want to, like Paris, France or Venice, Italy! Modeling Portfolio Images : Denver Teen Models

Denver teen model portfolio and headshot session last year and I had to share. Isn’t it great? This teen model is so lovely – and I love the dress she is wearing – it suits her so well! BTW, you may wonder how photographers come across images from months (sometimes years) ago that we didn’t ever share. Or you may wonder why we didn’t share them back when we took them….Here is how…during busy seasons, we take photos, deliver images to the client, repeat, repeat. We are so focused on meeting our clients needs that sometimes we forget to share our favorite ones on our blogs/social media/etc.  I think that’s a great thing, because it means we are focused on meeting our clients’ needs. (Yay!) But it does mean that our blogs/IG feeds/FB pages/etc can get neglected. (Boo!) Then something will happen that makes us think of a session we did – like we will talk to a client who is booking with us again, and we will think, “Oh! I really like the photos from that shoot, and I never did share them publicly.”  Or we do a shoot that reminds us of a previous shoot, and we’ll realize the same thing….”Oh! I never did post photos from that shoot.!” Or we just get a message from the client thanking us and letting us know how our images for their child model won a modeling competition. (Double yay!) That happens to me quite a bit. And I know that social media is supposed to be all about the “now”, but a great image of a beautiful teen girl model from last year…well, that is timeless and still should be shared…even if the photographer (me) is months behind!
