Here are some ideas to help you prepare your team for their headshots with Natascha Lee Studios. Many people are uncomfortable having their photo taken, so this should help make them more comfortable and prepared…which will mean great photos that they (and you) love!
- Be sure to fill out the client form. Sections such as the “what is your company brand” will help me deliver images that WOW you, and match your company’s personality or brand.
- Be sure to give your team at least 2 days notice so they can select their clothes, etc.
- Let people know what the images will be used for and if you will be providing a copy for their personal use.
- Encourage your team to get plenty of sleep the night before, and to avoid salt or alcohol – both of which can make the skin look puffy
- Clothes should fit well and not be too loose/baggy. Spaghetti straps, sleeveless shirts, low cut blouses, and/or bare shoulders are not recommended for headshots
- Encourage your team to wear clothes that they are comfortable in. Consider using a Pinterest board to convey the look/feel you are aiming for.
- Bright colors look great, as well as interested jewelry.
- Women should do their hair and makeup as if for a nice occasion or going out.
- Consider having a professional stylist on hand to help with hair and make up. It seems like a indulgence, but it will make people feel and look better.
- Regarding rescheduling: The session fee is for each photo session. If someone is unable to attend the session, and we need to do a separate shoot for them, that incurs a separate session fee.
- Please allow 10 minutes per person for the shoot, and another 10 minutes if you will be doing a group shot.
- Morning is usually the best time. Natural light is key, and if we are shooting on location be sure to have some space with near large windows that we can use.
- People like to know about the photographer and the photographer’s style. Consider sending them a link to my headshot gallery, which can give them ideas on clothing, etc: https://nataschaleestudios.com/galleries/headshots/
