Ever wonder what a Denver highschool senior portrait session looks like? Here is a video from a Premier Highschool Senior Session – two locations, 5 outfit changes, 30 amazing images:
Cherry Creek Highschool Senior Photo Session by Natascha Lee Studios from N Lee on Vimeo.
And here is a collage with their favorite images. I’m really enjoying the dual nature of sharing both video and photos:
These images were done at one of my satellite studio locations in Downtown Denver, and also at the very beautiful and always fun Washington Park.
Bella brought a variety of clothes, and did her own hair and make up. Her mother came for the session, but stayed out of the way so that her daughter would be super relaxed and comfortable. This is one of those families that I love to shoot for year after year.

model portfolio done by you. Do you have any places you shoot with red brick walls, kinda distressed?” And that will become an inspiration to do a blog posting….I can answer that photography client’s specific question with images, and then I have it available anyone in the future who asks.
Today, I’m sharing a few iphone videos taken this Fall @ one of my satellite studio locations. This isn’t far from my Denver Studio, but it’s a totally different Urban space and feel. For one thing, it’s mostly outdoors – so not so great on sub-freezing days. But the variety of background make for fab photos. I did a senior shoot here in the fall, and the space helped us get truly unique photos to celebrate Bella, the Cherry Creek Highschool (CCHS) senior during this special time in her life.
The videos below help you get a feel for the place, and I’ve included photos taken in each of the spaces (like my other studio tour posts here and here).
First up is this great red brick barn, with sliding doors on one side and it is just flooded with natural light from the sliding doors:

We can make photos like this:
And the cool metal staircase in the corner can be used like this:
This one shows the barn and the outside:

Then there’s this great corner with lots of plants including grape vines climbing an arbor, a super cool metal table, vines climbing the walls, and yummy light:

We can do photos like this:
Finally, the part that is probably my favorite – the huge sliding doors.

And we can use those doors, and the diffused light as a background to make photos like this. I just love, love, love this image:
So that’s the tour. This space is a special place, and available as an upgrade option to your photo session!
Finally, I’ll include some photos I used in a previous post. I was going to link to them, but I might as well just include them here:
Wouldn’t this be a great place for your child’s Highschool Senior Photos? Or a Modeling Portfolio? Or for family portraits for an urban feel? Let’s do it – Contact me today!

modeling portfolio images for a local Denver modeling agency, their family portraits last year (also done @ Washington Park) , their older daughter’s senior portraits (go Cherry Creek!), and their entire family this year, too. It’s an honor to be part of my client’s lives like this!
And, can I just say how much I love Washington Park? It’s like the National Parks (celebrating their 100th anniversary this year). But Wash Park is even older. From Wikipedia:
The park was first developed by Architect Reinhard Scheutze in 1899. Its design was influenced by city planner Kessler, the Olmsted Brothers and the famous philanthropist “The Unsinkable” Molly Brown.
So, thanks to those folks over a century ago, and the people today who tend to it and esp the folks who do the flowers and landscaping – they all bring so much joy to so many people. When I’m meeting Denver friends, one of my favorite things to do is to meet there for a walk, bike ride or picnic.
We met at sunrise for the family portraits. It’s hard to get camera-ready that early in the morning, but it is always worth it!

We are thrilled to introduce our Denver teen model of the month for October:
Denver Modeling Headshots and Portfolios for Denver Teen Model
Congrats to our Model of the Month: Corrinne, a lovely 15 year old (14 when we did her modeling photos) from Denver.
Let’s start by meeting Paula, Corrinne’s mom:
Hi! I’m Paula Metcaffe, originally from Wisconsin. When I have time to myself, I love to garden, work around the house and shop. Our family loves to vacation together in tropical places. For Christmas this year, we opted for palm trees instead of evergreens and went to Hawaii.
And now, a bit about her beautiful daughter – Corrine, tell us about yourself:
Hi, I’m Corrinne Metcaffe and I am 15! -I like snapchat, twitter, volley ball, going to concerts, history and gym. I LOVE makeup and REALLY LOVE food. I dream of traveling to Australia and all of Europe.
Corrine, what is something about you that surprises people when they find out about it?
People are surprised to find out I was born in California but then lived in Wisconsin until I was 6, when I moved to Colorado. I’m super tall, so my friends feel like “ant” next to me. If you need anything from your top shelf, I’m your gal!
Paula, made your daughter Corrine interested in modeling?
We heard about an event for kids that wanted to model and act. Corrinne wanted to try it – she was 10. It was held on the Disney property in Florida, just outside of Disneyworld. The kids learned how to walk the runway and pose. The read lines for commercials and performed in front of a camera. There were 1200 kids from all over the country. She got to meet so many people and learn many new things. One of the highlights was meeting the host of the show. It was David Deluise, the dad from Wizards of Waverly Place.
There were agents from the east coast and California. She had several offers that would have required us to move for the summer. At the time we were not able to go but it was a great experience and we made a lot of fun memories. She has wanted to model ever since.
Why did you pick Natascha Lee Studios for your modeling headshots?
We picked Natascha for several reasons. We have had numerous photographers over the years. Some were good and others not so good… but we wanted something different. Something great. So, we began our search. Natascha had such great client reviews and we loved her work. Everyone looked so natural and comfortable. The chemistry with your photographer is almost as important as their skills.
Was there anything you were nervous or worried about before the session?
No. Natascha gave us great prep tips. We were only excited as to how the images would turn out.
What was your favorite part of your session?
The session went so fast. We were there for a few hours but it was so much fun that time flew. Favorite Part – it was a tossup – the shoot with the glitter was great but I think that doing a shoot on the roof was the best.
Any advice to other new models before their photo sessions?
Bring lots of clothing options. Even more than you think you will need. Have fun!
How did you feel/what did you think when received your images?
So happy! We loved them. Everyone in the family had their favorite!
Ok – the most important question of all: If you could have any superpower, which one would it be and why?
Corrinne: A mind reader – I could know what my teachers are thinking!

This was shot at one of my special “satellite” photo locations in downtown Denver. It has the most unique urban setting, and fab natural light.
Little back story: I brought my favorite colorful bench as a prop. When I brought it out, this senior gal loved it, her mom was not a big fan. Until she saw how adorable the photos were with her bright, happy daughter and this bright happy bench!
Senior season is winding down, and most senior have yearbook deadlines this month.
It’s been a great year, and now Denver’s family portrait season is heating up! I just love Colorado for the beauty it brings us every day, including for outdoor family portrait season.

I’m thrilled to introduce our teen model of the month for March: Paris. Paris is so photogenic! And she was just 11 years old when we did this shoot (she has since turned 12.) Read on to learn more about her, and her journey as a Denver Teen Model.
First let’s hear from Paris’ mom, Summer. Mom, tell us about yourself and your family:
My name is Summer Gorman and am a semi-native to Colorado. I was born in California and moved to Colorado when I was 7. First thing I asked when we got to Colorado was what all the white stuff was on the ground. I had never seen snow before.
I love spending time with my family (hubby, son, daughter, and parents), traveling, and watching Paris play volleyball. When I have time to myself, I will work out, go to the movies, or simply do nothing at all!
As a family, we don’t have very much free time. Plus, we each have different interests. We try to go to movies, but again, our movie interests differ. We visit family often and we try to do as much camping as we can over the summer.
Now, let’s hear from Paris in her own words:
My name is Paris Gorman, and I am 12 years old. My favorite book is “Let it Snow” By: John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. I am obsessed with the TV show “Pretty Little Liars” and my favorite movies are the Harry Potter series. I play club volleyball and I really enjoy doing mine and other people’s makeup. Something I have never done, but dream of doing is to be in the Olympics for (hard court) volleyball!
What is something about you that surprises people about you?
One thing that surprises people is when I tell them I play volleyball for Colorado Juniors. I am actually playing up on a 13’s team, instead of 12’s team.
My friends say that I am very goofy and I talk a lot.
What made you interesting in modeling?
I have always wanted to be a model for the brand PINK or for NIKE. I have had a fairly good experience so far, but have only been a backup in one commercial. I am still grateful I could be in a commercial though! I love meeting new people and hope to meet many more on my next modeling job.
Why did you pick Natascha Lee Studios for your modeling headshots?
Wilhelmina gave us a whole bunch of choices for a photoshoot, and Natascha Lee Studios caught our eye the most. We were told that she knows exactly what Wilhelmina is looking for, and she sure did!
Was there anything you were nervous or worried about before the session?
I was nervous about my skin. Like most teens, I can breakout pretty bad sometimes. I am also very clumsy, so I had a whole bunch of scratches on my legs and arms.
How did the actual photo session go?
The photo session went really good! My favorite part was being able to pose for the camera and be outside!
Any advice to other models before their photo sessions?
Just make sure you give yourselves multiple choices, from shoes and clothes, and your hair. It’s always good to make sure you feel confident and comfortable in your outfits too. Always make sure you put your happy face on, they don’t want to see a sad model!
How did you feel/what did you think when received your images?
I thought they looked amazing. I was actually surprised at how good my skin looked! I also couldn’t believe how long my legs looked!
If you could have any superpower, which one would it be and why?
I would love to fly, obviously! The reason being is I would like to see the world from a different perspective and to be in control of where I was going. I would also be able to visit any place I want to, like Paris, France or Venice, Italy!
