Check out this lovely project called “You are my Wild” by a group of photographer parents who wanted to put down their camera phones, and capture artistic, authentic images of their kids using their “real” cameras.
It takes more time and effort, but the results are lovely.
This one below is one of my favs from the project:
I’m constantly impressed by how my clients style themselves (and their family) for their portrait sessions. For those who are not familiar with “styling” for a photography session, it involves selecting the clothes and props to use during a session. I recomend avoiding logos or letters, but beyond that, wear whatever you love and feel good in. If you pick a color for your entire family to wear, I suggest selecting one item of clothing for each person to wear, so that it’s not too matchy-matchy.
Some of my clients even do Pinterest boards as inspiration for our photo sessions. My only challenge with Pinterest is that I get sucked in, and end up spending waaaay too much time there. So, if you are a client and you would like send me your currated Pinterest board, go for it! But please don’t send it to me in the morning or my whole day will be shot! 😉

I had the very fun project of pulling together a sample newborn portrait session video for Natascha Lee Studios. I love, just love photographing newborn babies, and I love revisiting those portrait sessions.
So, I reviewed all my newborn sessions from 2012, to select the very best “quintessential” newborn shoot. This particular baby was one of my favorites from last year. Flawless skin, slept the entire time. Doesn’t hurt that both he and his parents are gorgeous!

The summer one below was a concept session rather than a regular portrait session. Concept sessions are far more complex since they involve props, storyline, etc…., but they are also also tons and tons of fun.
This particular one was done over two successive evenings, and it even involved two assistants!
I think the results are spectacular, and it was even featured on InspireMeBaby.

A collaborative opportunity allowed me to work with Natascha. How lucky am I to have had her grace my boutique, Rejuvanest. I love how she captured the essence of the nest. She was here, then there… so quick to snap a shot that enabled a viewer to see a panoramic view, which isn’t easy to do. She took adorable photos for mom and baby as well as lingerie and jewelry. And this is the best part: she took photos of me that I couldn’t resist, and that is the rare bird that can do that. Hats off to Natascha!
