Summer Video.
This completes my “Four Seasons of Custom Family Portraits for Colorado Families” video series, which you can view here.
The summer one below was a concept session rather than a regular portrait session. Concept sessions are far more complex since they involve props, storyline, etc…., but they are also also tons and tons of fun.
This particular one was done over two successive evenings, and it even involved two assistants!
I think the results are spectacular, and it was even featured on InspireMeBaby.
Like many Boulder Family photographers, I am just now getting around to blogging some of the wonderful sessions done last Fall.
Our Fall is typically so busy with clients looking to create family portraits to give as gifts, family portraits to use as holiday cards, and often, as in this case, those who just happen to be 8 months pregnant and want some artistic, amazing memory photos.
BTW, if you have a friend or family member who is pregnant, a Maternity + Newborn session is a FABULOUS idea as a baby shower gift.
Here is one of my favorites of this yoga / yogini mama. Just look at the pure, unadulterated joy on her face. Love it!
As you do your gift shopping, don’t forget that a photo session makes a GREAT holiday gift.
And, I offer LOVELY framed certificates to present the gift.
A little secret: Grandparents LOVE getting photos of their grandkids, and if you give them the certificate for Christmas, they’ll know that lovely portraits will be coming soon. Plus of course you’ll get images for your own family as well. Yes! A 2 -in-1!
Anyway, I’m working hard on getting my client’s Holiday orders ready (you know the saying how when it rains, it pours?),
but I’m also also feeling bad about neglecting blog posting.
So, here are few of my favorite images from 2012, in no particular order.
BTW, is anyone else having a hard time feeling the Christmas Spirit with this crazy warm Colorado weather?
All I want to do is be outside hiking, biking, playing tennis and running!
I just love photographing fathers playing with their kiddos.
Here is a quick sneak peek at a recent family session I did in Westminster/Broomfield, Colorado.
Can you believe the yellow leaves are still out in November? Amazing.
This little boy was one of my toughest, with very few smiles for Josephine* that day. But here is his happiness on full display, while playing with Daddy.
I’ll post a few more pix from this session later, but for now I just knew that Mamma is excited to see at least one.
And, Mamma runs a super cool company on etsy that I’ll tell you about next time I post.
*Yes, my camera is named Josephine. I got the idea from Lucille.
Along those same lines, I just love this color guide for portrait clothes from Lina Jarmond. (Thanks to Lina for letting me re-post it here.)
I am almost all booked for my fall sessions , and one of the first questions people ask is, “What should I wear?”
See the nifty image below for ideas (each color palette has a Mommy, Daddy and Kiddos suggestions), and/or check out page 26 in my Summer Studio Magazine.
