This was shot at one of my special “satellite” photo locations in downtown Denver. It has the most unique urban setting, and fab natural light.
Little back story: I brought my favorite colorful bench as a prop. When I brought it out, this senior gal loved it, her mom was not a big fan. Until she saw how adorable the photos were with her bright, happy daughter and this bright happy bench!
Senior season is winding down, and most senior have yearbook deadlines this month.
It’s been a great year, and now Denver’s family portrait season is heating up! I just love Colorado for the beauty it brings us every day, including for outdoor family portrait season.

modeling headshots/ portfolios for both of her beautiful daughters. When I interviewed them, she said if she could have any superpower, it would be EarthMother, so I had an EarthMother drawn for her.
BTW, the insanely talented artist who did this is Electra from Italy. I am so lucky to be able to work with people like her. Every time I get a piece of art from her, it makes me smile all day. Do you have anyone like that you work with? Every time they deliver their creativity to you, it delights you so much that you smile all day?

I’m thrilled to introduce our teen model of the month for March: Paris. Paris is so photogenic! And she was just 11 years old when we did this shoot (she has since turned 12.) Read on to learn more about her, and her journey as a Denver Teen Model.
First let’s hear from Paris’ mom, Summer. Mom, tell us about yourself and your family:
My name is Summer Gorman and am a semi-native to Colorado. I was born in California and moved to Colorado when I was 7. First thing I asked when we got to Colorado was what all the white stuff was on the ground. I had never seen snow before.
I love spending time with my family (hubby, son, daughter, and parents), traveling, and watching Paris play volleyball. When I have time to myself, I will work out, go to the movies, or simply do nothing at all!
As a family, we don’t have very much free time. Plus, we each have different interests. We try to go to movies, but again, our movie interests differ. We visit family often and we try to do as much camping as we can over the summer.
Now, let’s hear from Paris in her own words:
My name is Paris Gorman, and I am 12 years old. My favorite book is “Let it Snow” By: John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. I am obsessed with the TV show “Pretty Little Liars” and my favorite movies are the Harry Potter series. I play club volleyball and I really enjoy doing mine and other people’s makeup. Something I have never done, but dream of doing is to be in the Olympics for (hard court) volleyball!
What is something about you that surprises people about you?
One thing that surprises people is when I tell them I play volleyball for Colorado Juniors. I am actually playing up on a 13’s team, instead of 12’s team.
My friends say that I am very goofy and I talk a lot.
What made you interesting in modeling?
I have always wanted to be a model for the brand PINK or for NIKE. I have had a fairly good experience so far, but have only been a backup in one commercial. I am still grateful I could be in a commercial though! I love meeting new people and hope to meet many more on my next modeling job.
Why did you pick Natascha Lee Studios for your modeling headshots?
Wilhelmina gave us a whole bunch of choices for a photoshoot, and Natascha Lee Studios caught our eye the most. We were told that she knows exactly what Wilhelmina is looking for, and she sure did!
Was there anything you were nervous or worried about before the session?
I was nervous about my skin. Like most teens, I can breakout pretty bad sometimes. I am also very clumsy, so I had a whole bunch of scratches on my legs and arms.
How did the actual photo session go?
The photo session went really good! My favorite part was being able to pose for the camera and be outside!
Any advice to other models before their photo sessions?
Just make sure you give yourselves multiple choices, from shoes and clothes, and your hair. It’s always good to make sure you feel confident and comfortable in your outfits too. Always make sure you put your happy face on, they don’t want to see a sad model!
How did you feel/what did you think when received your images?
I thought they looked amazing. I was actually surprised at how good my skin looked! I also couldn’t believe how long my legs looked!
If you could have any superpower, which one would it be and why?
I would love to fly, obviously! The reason being is I would like to see the world from a different perspective and to be in control of where I was going. I would also be able to visit any place I want to, like Paris, France or Venice, Italy!

Denver teen model portfolio and headshot session last year and I had to share. Isn’t it great? This teen model is so lovely – and I love the dress she is wearing – it suits her so well!
BTW, you may wonder how photographers come across images from months (sometimes years) ago that we didn’t ever share. Or you may wonder why we didn’t share them back when we took them….Here is how…during busy seasons, we take photos, deliver images to the client, repeat, repeat. We are so focused on meeting our clients needs that sometimes we forget to share our favorite ones on our blogs/social media/etc. I think that’s a great thing, because it means we are focused on meeting our clients’ needs. (Yay!) But it does mean that our blogs/IG feeds/FB pages/etc can get neglected. (Boo!)
Then something will happen that makes us think of a session we did – like we will talk to a client who is booking with us again, and we will think, “Oh! I really like the photos from that shoot, and I never did share them publicly.” Or we do a shoot that reminds us of a previous shoot, and we’ll realize the same thing….”Oh! I never did post photos from that shoot.!” Or we just get a message from the client thanking us and letting us know how our images for their child model won a modeling competition. (Double yay!)
That happens to me quite a bit. And I know that social media is supposed to be all about the “now”, but a great image of a beautiful teen girl model from last year…well, that is timeless and still should be shared…even if the photographer (me) is months behind!

I’ve been lucky enough to do modeling portfolio and headshots for many local Denver child and teen models. Today I’m thrilled to introduce our male model of the month, Ronan.
Ronan is super laid back, and (like many teen models) looks and acts much older than 13. He’s got a great sense of humor and as he mentions below, he had a hard time keeping a straight face during our portfolio session.
First let’s hear from Ronan’s mom, Lamia, who has a fascinating background!
Tell us about yourself and your family:
I was born in Wales, raised in Morocco, went to college and graduate school in Vermont, stayed in the US and lived in Louisiana 15 years before moving to Colorado in July 2013. I am a project manager for a start-up food manufacturing company and work is keeping me very busy. I don’t have much time to myself but if I did I’d want to do absolutely nothing! 🙂 As a family though, Ronan and I like to go skiing (for me) and snowboarding (for him) in the winter, or just being outdoors when it’s warm.
Now, let’s hear from Ronan in his own words:
My name is Ronan, I’m 13 years old. I’m an avid reader, enjoy going to the movies, but most of all I love playing football and basketball. The first thing that came to mind when asked about what would I dream of doing, is to drive a Lamborghini one day!
What is something about you that surprises people about you?
People are always surprised when I tell them my age because I’m so tall for my age. I am now 6′ tall 160lbs and still 13! My friends would say “he’s huge!”
What made you interesting in modeling?
I had never thought about it until a few friends of my parents kept saying I should try out modeling. I’ve had a few opportunities to audition for TV commercials but the timing conflicted with school vacation or I had a game.
Why did you pick Natascha Lee Studios for your modeling headshots?
Our modeling agency Wilhelmina highly recommended Natascha Lee Studios.
Was there anything you were nervous or worried about before the session?
I was definitely nervous because I had never done anything like this before. I was also very nervous because I thought I’d be the only boy, but when I showed up there was another guy.
How did the actual photo session go?
The photo shoot was so much fun, and Natascha made it very easy. My favorite part was trying to keep a straight face, it’s so hard to do but so funny!
Any advice to other models before their photo sessions?
It’s really not as serious as you think it may be. It’s a fun experience.
How did you feel/what did you think when received your images?
I was impressed when I received the pictures because I didn’t think I could look so cool LOL
If you could have any superpower, which one would it be and why?
Invincibility because I could do anything

Denver Modeling Headshots and Portfolios for Denver Teen Male Models

Denver Model photographer, the question I hear the most is “what should I wear?”This posting is to help out any Denver model (well, any model anywhere I guess!) who is planning a professional photo session to build their modeling portfolio. You also might want to check out my top 3 tips here.
Here are two great examples of my Model Portfolio+ Plus for Teen Girls. Not only are these girls beautiful and photogenic, but they and their parents did a GREAT job preparing for their modeling session. Preparation is key!
You’ll see that each girl has three distinct looks – one casual, one dressy and one “other” – sporty in Lucia’s case and dressy in Isabella’s case. Your third outfit could be related to your favorite sport, or it could be shorts, or it could be similar to outfit 1 or 2 – but in a very different color.
Speaking of colors, you’ll see that the colors are varied, and the clothes are all in new/almost new condition. They fit well, but not too tight. The outfits are all age-appropriate (nothing too short or low cut).
Models bring a variety of outfits (at least six) to their portfolio and headshot session, and then I help them select the very best that will result in great images that showcase their unique beauty and personality.
Their hair is natural, and make up is none or minimal.
We shoot each outfit in a different location, all in and around my studio.
BTW, this isn’t just for models! If your are looking for an amazing experience for your tween/teen girl, or a “Top Model” type shoot for your High School Senior, this is a great option!
Example one – Lucia:
Example Two: Isabella
(Standard Sessions have 10 – 12 images, +Plus sessions have 15 images)
