Denver Models and Seniors Rooftop Photoshoot
It’s January 2018 and I’m back in the studio. Excited to share these great portraits done just before the break. Lila is a Denver model and also a local highschool senior. She is super athletic, sweet, smart and a very strong young woman. Her mom, a yoga instructor and mega-volunteer, has the best, best wardrobe and some of the super cool clothes from this shoot were from her mom.
She wanted a combo model and senior shoot – so we did that @ my amazing Denver Urban Photo Studio, including doing one of her outfits on the rooftop!

Denver model shoot, taken at
the Art, a hotel (yes, that’s really the hotel’s name):
This gal is so pretty, and she’s great at posing. She comes up with so many different looks and movements, very quickly and easily. Her boyfriend is also a model, and he was part of our shoot. I’ll be posting photos with him soon. And our setting – The Art, a hotel is simply beautiful. Original art, super cool decor. And the rooms are just as cool as the rest of the place. Oh, and get this – the water, the snacks and the drinks in the mini fridge are all included, for free. I love that. Talk about hospitality. If you have guests who want to stay downtown at an interesting, unique hotel – I recommend you check them out. BTW, did you know that I offer “model sessions” birthday packages for preteen and teen girls who want to have a special birthday experience that they, and their friends will never forget? (Oh boy, that was a very long sentence,e wasn’t it? ) We meet at my
super cool Denver studio, and then all the girls get to wear fun clothes that THEY pick out! Ready to book your own

Denver model shoot, taken by by fab assistant:
And here is what the final image looks like:
Sometimes, we walk past the most beautiful lighting just because it’s in the dark hallway, or it’s tucked back into a corner. The light from that window, combined with the contrast of the big, heavy metal door behind, makes for a lovely image. Oh, yea, and the beautiful young Denver model and her pretty smile…that’s a big part of it, too. 😉

model portfolio done by you. Do you have any places you shoot with red brick walls, kinda distressed?” And that will become an inspiration to do a blog posting….I can answer that photography client’s specific question with images, and then I have it available anyone in the future who asks.
Today, I’m sharing a few iphone videos taken this Fall @ one of my satellite studio locations. This isn’t far from my Denver Studio, but it’s a totally different Urban space and feel. For one thing, it’s mostly outdoors – so not so great on sub-freezing days. But the variety of background make for fab photos. I did a senior shoot here in the fall, and the space helped us get truly unique photos to celebrate Bella, the Cherry Creek Highschool (CCHS) senior during this special time in her life.
The videos below help you get a feel for the place, and I’ve included photos taken in each of the spaces (like my other studio tour posts here and here).
First up is this great red brick barn, with sliding doors on one side and it is just flooded with natural light from the sliding doors:

We can make photos like this:
And the cool metal staircase in the corner can be used like this:
This one shows the barn and the outside:

Then there’s this great corner with lots of plants including grape vines climbing an arbor, a super cool metal table, vines climbing the walls, and yummy light:

We can do photos like this:
Finally, the part that is probably my favorite – the huge sliding doors.

And we can use those doors, and the diffused light as a background to make photos like this. I just love, love, love this image:
So that’s the tour. This space is a special place, and available as an upgrade option to your photo session!
Finally, I’ll include some photos I used in a previous post. I was going to link to them, but I might as well just include them here:
Wouldn’t this be a great place for your child’s Highschool Senior Photos? Or a Modeling Portfolio? Or for family portraits for an urban feel? Let’s do it – Contact me today!

modeling portfolio images for a local Denver modeling agency, their family portraits last year (also done @ Washington Park) , their older daughter’s senior portraits (go Cherry Creek!), and their entire family this year, too. It’s an honor to be part of my client’s lives like this!
And, can I just say how much I love Washington Park? It’s like the National Parks (celebrating their 100th anniversary this year). But Wash Park is even older. From Wikipedia:
The park was first developed by Architect Reinhard Scheutze in 1899. Its design was influenced by city planner Kessler, the Olmsted Brothers and the famous philanthropist “The Unsinkable” Molly Brown.
So, thanks to those folks over a century ago, and the people today who tend to it and esp the folks who do the flowers and landscaping – they all bring so much joy to so many people. When I’m meeting Denver friends, one of my favorite things to do is to meet there for a walk, bike ride or picnic.
We met at sunrise for the family portraits. It’s hard to get camera-ready that early in the morning, but it is always worth it!
