Denver Models and Seniors Rooftop Photoshoot
It’s January 2018 and I’m back in the studio. Excited to share these great portraits done just before the break. Lila is a Denver model and also a local highschool senior. She is super athletic, sweet, smart and a very strong young woman. Her mom, a yoga instructor and mega-volunteer, has the best, best wardrobe and some of the super cool clothes from this shoot were from her mom.
She wanted a combo model and senior shoot – so we did that @ my amazing Denver Urban Photo Studio, including doing one of her outfits on the rooftop!

Pumpkin Spice
What a deliciously exciting color to spice up your photographs! Done properly, this oh-so-Autumn tone could turn your photographs into something your friends will envy for years to come. Try using this spicy hue as an accent color, or if it’s a main piece like a top or jacket, make sure the rest of what you’re wearing is dark and subtle. The yellow-orange will pop on camera and look amazing.

Provincial Blue
This special grey-blue is introverted and complementary to just about anyone lucky enough to be wearing it! Whites and greys are ideal companions to create a complete look. Lovely to look at on camera and versatile for indoors, outdoors, urban, or out in nature, Provincial Blue is a great, low-risk choice for anyone putting together their outfit.

Margarita
Margarita is a soft sage green that reminds us Spring is somewhere around the corner, but not quite here yet! This hue is innocent and graceful, and can be worn as an accent color or as the main piece. Leather shoes and accessories look fantastic alongside this tone.

Cascade
Brighter than the other blues in this collection, Cascade is optimistic and playful. Soft sand tones as accents allow this special blue to shine. Cascade is another wonderful choice for those who aren’t quite sure what color would look best; it won’t let you down! A perfect color to wear for the camera.

Yoga or Dance maternity photos:
- Pick a photographer who has experience photographing both maternity and yoga or dance photos. They will understand best how to pose you. Bonus if they themselves are a former dancer or yoga teacher.
- Book your photographer for your 8th month of pregnancy, and plan to book about 3 months out – meaning, when you are 5 months pregnant. At about 8 months, you’ll have a big beautiful baby belly, but won’t be so far along that you may have to cancel because you are delivering!
- Discuss with your photographer the types of images you want. Indoor? Outdoor? Both? Posed? More natural and relaxed? Bare belly? How comfortable are you with moving and doing some yoga poses during the session?
- Bring a variety of clothing and accessories (like this super cool belt below).
- Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure the day before your shoot. Your nails will look great, and it will relax you.
- Have fun! This is a great treat you are giving yourself, and your future baby who will LOVE to see photos of themselves in Mommy’s belly.
