Have you seen the “What to Wear” fashion guides for portrait photography? Or perhaps seen the What to Wear For Family Photo Sessions boards on Pinterest? (Check out our own “What to Wear” Board/Collection here)

Many of them are exclusively for the kids, or start with children’s clothes and then add Mommy and Daddy.

I’m turning that on it’s head for this series, and starting with clothing ideas Mommy and Daddy.

This is suggestion #4 of 8 in our “2014 Warm Season Photo Fashion Guide.” Here are links to: idea number 1 and number 2, and number 3.

I love the bright cheery yellow (“freesia”) umbrella. Now I’m envisioning a concept session where everyone has bright umbrellas!

We wouldn’t even have to wait for the regular Broomfield afternoon rain…although it could be fun if we did!

Broomfield Baby Photography: Photo props before and after (Twin shoot by Natascha Lee Studios)

Ah, another beautiful Summer day in Broomfield, Colorado. Grass is emerald green, baby birds chirping away for their parents, and kids splashing in the pool!

We love all the seasons here in Colorado, but Summer is especially laid back with lots of possible outdoor portrait locations.

As you can see in our portrait galleries, children and family sessions take place (mostly) outdoors.

But newborn portraits are done in-studio to keep that itty bitty brand new baby warm and snuggly.

And once you are here, you’ll get to select from a wide variety of props! My favorite images are almost always of infant baby snuggled in Mommy or Daddy’s hands.

But the photos with props are pretty darn cute, too.

Toms and Water for People: Moving into Coffee + Water and Sanitation

Water For People – a couple of years ago I volunteered and then worked for them. They have an innovative approach to WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene) for developing countries. From their website:

Water for People exists for one purpose, and it’s as simple as our name: we want all people to have safe, continuous water, and when they do, our job will be done. We want water for everyone, forever.

My assistant loves TOMS – she wears their shoes every day.

Together, we are super excited about this innovative partnership announced today:

TOMS, known for its One for One shoe and sight ventures, is now entering the coffee market with TOMS Roasting Co. Under the guidance of a master brewer, TOMS Roasting Co. will offer six premium coffee varieties with beans sourced across the globe. For every bag of coffee purchased, TOMS Roasting Co. will work with Water For People to provide sustainable water systems to the countries from which the beans are sourced—Rwanda, Honduras, Peru, Guatemala, and Malawi.
