]]>Thank you so much to Elizabeth for her kind words regarding the STUNNING images from her family photography session. I so enjoyed creating custom portraits of her beautiful, smart and sassy daughter. We did these as part of my Westminster Summer Flower Series:
Natascha is a wonderful photographer! She was able to bring out a true smile to my daughters face which is very hard to do with a tween. I am so tired of my child’s pictures not coming out well at school or a photo center at the mall and just wasting money. Natascha’s photo shoot was fun! I can not wait to share these lovely photos with my friends & family. Thank you again Natascha. – Elizabeth from Westminster, CO
Thank YOU Elizabeth and Miss S, I can’t wait to include these images in my next Studio Magazine!
]]>This Broomfield children’s photography session was SO MUCH FUN! I LOVE LOVE LOVE these kid’s expressions!
The idea was to tell a story; Boy rides up on his “wheels” (tricycle), shares some stories, laughs and watermelon with girl, and then they ride off together. I actually shot this twice, the first time is below and the second time was for July 4th and those images will be posted next week.
Creative concept shoots are generally portraits that tell a story, and they usually use more props that more “regular” portrait photography.
That said, I lean towards simple props, ones that just help the portraits rather than overtake them.
I want the kids, their interactions, expressions and connection to be the focus of my photographic art. Because as mothers, that’s what we most cherish and want to remember forever. Enjoy!
PS – I’m even entering these images in a photography contest of sorts. Wish me luck!
]]>I love the imagination and playfulness of children. We put the wings on her and off she went like a fairy princess butterfly.
(If you have young daughters, you know what I’m talking about with that trio name there.)
BTW, This portrait was taken a few months ago at one of my favorite local Broomfield parks, but I’m a bit behind in blogging.
]]>I am constantly impressed and amazed by the wonderful clothes my family photography clients pull together for their portrait session. It can’t be easy to pull all that together, but it must be fun! For those who like to start with a little inspiration, here is an idea board with some great, vibrant colors for Summer Sessions. I have to admit that I love the “Mommy” outfit below, because the colors are my two favorites, plus they match my branding and logo!
Oh, and if you have a Pinterest board you think would be great for portrait style inspiration, just let me know. I’m happy to link to it and feature it here.
]]>One more of my favorites of kids playing with their Daddy.
I often suggest that parents bring their child’s favorite book to our portrait session; it relaxes the child, gives them something to play with and it also creates a lovely memory.
In this case, adorable 2-year old “T” was reading to her Daddy.
