So, it’s supposed to get up to 100 degrees today here in Broomfield. A friend said this morning, “Hey, I didn’t sign up to live in Phoenix!”
I know what she means – we did our gardening last night at 9pm, with headlamps, just to avoid the heat that lasted long after sunset.
And we were going to start our Broomfield Park Project today, but it’s just too hot!
Fortunately, viewing sessions (where you get to see all your amazing portraits from our session, and select your favorites) are held indoors, with air conditioning and usually with a nice latte or chai tea.
I have several viewing sessions scheduled for this week and one of my most frequent questions is, “What size should we order?”
So, to help you visualize the various sizes in whatever space you intend to put your art, here is a size guide, courtesy of ReverieMine:
(Keep in mind this works for any sort of art, portraits, etc.)

Wow, what a beautiful day in Broomfield: summer flowers, blue sky, and sunshine. Time to head to the outdoor pools and soak up some fabulous Colorado Summertime!
I’m so excited to continue my celebration of Fathers; I’ve even created a gallery of Daddy portraits, called “Daddy Love.” It seems I may have stumbled into special niche market as I’ve had a slew of inquiries from Single Dads recently, asking about family portraits for them and their children. I love taking photos of all families; one parent, two-parent, multi-generational, foster, adopted, blended. Custom portraiture is one of the best ways to celebrate the love of family and I am so honored I get to be part of that.
Continuing this week’s theme, because they loved my Daddy images, Adorama (major supplier to professional photographers) asked me to write an article on taking photos of Fathers and their children. Click here to read it over on Adorama’s website.
Since Father’s Day is this Sunday, a gift certificate for family portraits would make a GREAT gift! I can provide you a lovely custom-printed certificate, wrapped with a big fancy bow, and you can book the session at your convenience. And if you don’t live in the area, please consider finding a professional photographer in your area whose photo style you love, and who could offer you the same.
I’ll leave you with another of my favorite portraits of Daddy playing with his kiddos. Isn’t this image so sweet, the adorable little kiss they are sharing? It melts my heart:
BTW, if you are in the Broomfield or Westminster area, and you have young kids, ping me! I’m starting a new series on the best parks for parents with young children and would love to have several other parents’ input. Email me if you would like to participate and/or nominate your favorite parks!
