Very small park with a neighborhood feel. Try it out if you are looking for something new or if it’s location (on Sheridan on the W side of the Broadlands) is convenient.
(As mentioned before, excuse the choppy video above – done with an iphone while a toddler pulls on my other hand.)
Parents of very young children will want to know:
Since older kids practice sports here, your very young child may see/hear things you would rather not expose him/her to. If that’s the case, just come when the sports teams aren’t practicing.
The playground is well situated far from Sheridan, and a bit back from the parking lot. The playground floor is made of wood chips which aren’t very messy and don’t get hot in the summer.
There is only one play structure, so your kiddos may be playing with much older kids.
It seems like the parents here generally keep a close eye on their children.
Wonderful large gazebo with lots of tables.
Small porta potty far from playground.
Eating:
Many picnic tables under the large gazebo. Also has BBQ grills.

Shade for playing:
None.
Shade for parents to sit in while you watch the kids play:
Only under the gazebo, but it’s well situated to keep an eye on your kiddo.
Play Structures:
Just one large play structure for all ages. Plus the separate swing area: 2 regular, 2 for babies. The ground is wood chips, which don’t get as hot as other surfaces.

Fields/Running:
One long field for soccer (enough space for 3 soccer fields), another for baseball.

Mixed Age Kids:
Yes, would work due to the soccer fields, baseball diamond, etc. We like where the soccer field is in relation to the playground. It’s easy to keep an eye on a smaller kids on the playground while the bigger kid(s) run on the field.
Special Features:
None (I feel so bad writing that, but it’s just a nice neighborhood park.)
Parking:
Lots of parking right by playground.

Call of Nature:
Porta-Potty at the far end of the parking lot.
Our Favorite Feature:
How convenient the park is, and how large the gazebo was.

Summer Video.
This completes my “Four Seasons of Custom Family Portraits for Colorado Families” video series, which you can view here.
The summer one below was a concept session rather than a regular portrait session. Concept sessions are far more complex since they involve props, storyline, etc…., but they are also also tons and tons of fun.
This particular one was done over two successive evenings, and it even involved two assistants!
I think the results are spectacular, and it was even featured on InspireMeBaby.
