The last of three handy-dandy guides for styling for children’s sessions. Don’t forget that these ideas can easily be adapted to older children, too.
I would LOVE to do the “Little Gardener” theme session.
Special note to KS, mother of the penguin-loving beautiful boy A,: are you game? We can include the old fashioned bike! 😉

I’m constantly impressed by how my clients style themselves (and their family) for their portrait sessions. For those who are not familiar with “styling” for a photography session, it involves selecting the clothes and props to use during a session. I recomend avoiding logos or letters, but beyond that, wear whatever you love and feel good in. If you pick a color for your entire family to wear, I suggest selecting one item of clothing for each person to wear, so that it’s not too matchy-matchy.
Some of my clients even do Pinterest boards as inspiration for our photo sessions. My only challenge with Pinterest is that I get sucked in, and end up spending waaaay too much time there. So, if you are a client and you would like send me your currated Pinterest board, go for it! But please don’t send it to me in the morning or my whole day will be shot! 😉
This is the first of three posts with handy-dandy guides and suggestions. I think I”m partial to this particular style guide because it matches the colors in my logo! For more suggestions, check back in a few days and/or see my previous post here.

by Natascha | Mar 6, 2013 | Community, Mother's Night Out
Today I’m highlighting a really fun idea for Mother’s Night out: Group Art Evening.
If you live down South (Littleton, Centennial, etc.), one really fun option is The Art Connection in Littleton, Colorado.
From Birgit, one of the owners:
Book your mother’s night out with The Art Connection. Get 8-10 mothers and book our studio for a fun night out. Bring your own wine (that’s right! You don’t have to buy wine from us – you can bring your own!) and food and enjoy the company of each other while creating a masterpiece. We will bring the artist our within each of you. You will create a 16X20 canvas with multi media materials. Each piece will be your own vision and inspiration on canvas, none will be the same. You’ll leave with wonderful memories and a great piece of art!

Just a quick post today, with a photo I took last Fall near Maroon Bells, Aspen.
Isn’t Colorado just stunning?
I’m far behind with blogging portraits, but hope to post some new portrait images soon…
