Denver Children’s Portraits

Denver Children’s Portraits

Just a quick posting today. As we leave behind the warm summer weather, and head into autumn, I am already missing summer.

So, just have to share one of my favorite Denver Children’s Portrait sessions, shot during summer:

What to Wear for Fall Family Portraits : Pumpkin Spice

What to Wear for Fall Family Portraits : Pumpkin Spice

Here is an idea for what to wear for fall portraits. I know fall is a bit off, and perhaps you aren’t yet dreaming of Starbucks PSL. but those fall clothes will hit the stores soon (some may even already be there!). And, your favorite photographer will probably book out her/his fall schedule by mid to late July.  Nothing  wrong with getting a jump on things, right? BTW, I bought a bright orange coat and I just love the pop of color when I wear it with jeans.

Pumpkin Spice

What a deliciously exciting color to spice up your photographs! Done properly, this oh-so-Autumn tone could turn your photographs into something your friends will envy for years to come. Try using this spicy hue as an accent color, or if it’s a main piece like a top or jacket, make sure the rest of what you’re wearing is dark and subtle. The yellow-orange will pop on camera and look amazing.

Denver Child Models

#TBT to a couple cute Denver kids I shot for their first modeling portfolio. Shooting this age is never easy, and you want a photographer who is super familiar with kids and the way to shoot them for modeling – stylish, variety, but capture their unique personality. Basically, their internal and external cuteness!

What to Wear for Spring Family Portraits : Provincial Blue

What to Wear for Spring Family Portraits : Provincial Blue

Here is an idea for what to wear for spring portraits. Can’t you just imagine doing this outfit and riding an old fashioned bike, with the photo session set at a park? Perhaps a French Baguette in the basket of the bike?

Provincial Blue

This special grey-blue is introverted and complementary to just about anyone lucky enough to be wearing it! Whites and greys are ideal companions to create a complete look. Lovely to look at on camera and versatile for indoors, outdoors, urban, or out in nature, Provincial Blue is a great, low-risk choice for anyone putting together their outfit.

May the 4th Be With You (What a difference a year makes)

May the 4th Be With You (What a difference a year makes)

I’m missing my “May the 4th” pal this year. We seem to have viewing sessions around May 4th each year.

But just had to share what a difference a year makes. Here is her lovely Denver child model daughter, Presley in her tutus! We love tutus!

These photos were taking almost exactly a year apart. PS – For our last “1 year apart” image, click here.

I highly recommend annual photo sessions WITH your kids. It’s so fun to see how they grow from year to year.

As I tell all my client, friends, family (anyone who will listen, really) – investing in quality family portraits is one of the best choices you can make this year.

Long after the spontaneous Target or Costco shopping spree is spent (been there, done that), or the stylish purse, the on-trend shoes, the expertly applied streaky hair highlights (or purple hair tips) are gone, long after the fancy meals are eaten, the fine wine is drunk and forgotten, long after the pretty new couch looks worn and old – these images are what will last forever and bring you joy several generations.

Margarita

Margarita is a soft sage green that reminds us Spring is somewhere around the corner, but not quite here yet! This hue is innocent and graceful, and can be worn as an accent color or as the main piece. Leather shoes and accessories look fantastic alongside this tone.
